Doula Training for Medical Professionals is 98% online, self-paced hybrid program—designed with your demanding schedule in mind.

This flexible training model puts you in control—complete your modules anytime, anywhere, entirely at your own pace. After finishing your online coursework with a minimum grade of “C,” you can elevate your training through a one-day, in-person Skills & Drills Workshop or partner with a local doula in your state to complete and sign off your skills checklist.

Students also have the exciting option to join our Mentorship Program with our Affiliate Doula Organization in Columbia, MD. This immersive experience allows you to work alongside a busy, established doula practice supporting clients birthing in hospitals, homes, and birth centers. You’ll perform hands-on skills, receive signatures, gain real clinical exposure, and may even earn a permanent doula position upon successful completion.

Self-Paced Enrollment 

Train On Your Time—Anytime, Anywhere

This is a fully self-paced course with 24/7 access, 365 days a year, allowing you to begin and progress through your training whenever it best fits your schedule and lifestyle.

Before enrolling, please carefully review and ensure you meet the following enrollment requirements to set yourself up for success.

In order to enroll in our Doula Training Program, you must have one or more of the following: 

1. Active License or Certification as a Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Midwife, Nurse Practitioner, Doctor, Resident Doctor, Birth Assistant, Medical Assistant, Nursing Assistant, Surgical Tech, Respiratory Therapist, Paramedic/EMT, Behavioral Health Technician, Patient Care Technician, Nurse Support Technician, 

2. OR Currently in School with an Active Preceptorship in one or more of the following roles listed above.

3. Active CPR Certification 

4. Ability to Complete OB Medical Terminology with The Black Doula Training within one month prior to the start of the program. 

Post Training Certification Requirements

1. Must be available 24/7 to support birth and postpartum clients. 

2. Support 3 Birth & 3 Postpartum Clients

3. Complete Childbirth Education Class with The Black doula Training 

4. Complete Basic Breastfeeding Course with The Black Doula Training 

5. Obtain NRP Certification with The American Academy of Pediatrics

6. Complete 3 Book Reports for recommended books.

 

Step Into Certification with Confidence

Once all online modules are successfully completed and you’ve participated in our immersive, hands-on Skills & Drills workshop with a minimum grade of “C,” you’ll be awarded a Temporary Certification—valid for two years. This certification allows you to begin practicing and gaining real-world experience while working toward full certification by completing the next set of requirements outlined below.

For those who choose not to pursue official certification, a Certificate of Attendance will be issued to recognize your participation in our nationally respected training program.

 

Payment & Payment Plan Policy – Doula Training for Medical Professionals.

Payment for the Doula Training for Medical Professionals may be made in full or through an approved payment plan.

Payment Plan Option
Participants may elect to enroll in a structured payment plan consisting of twelve (12) equal payments of $82.59 per week.

A 10% payment plan arrangement fee is assessed for all payment plans. This fee has already been applied and is included in the above installment amounts.

Auto-Pay Requirement
All payment plan participants are required to enroll in automatic payments (auto-pay). Failure to maintain active auto-pay may result in administrative action, including cancellation of enrollment.

Refund Policy
All fees paid toward the Doula Training for Medical Professionals are strictly non-refundable.
This includes, but is not limited to, tuition, payment plan fees, administrative fees, and any installment payments made.

Enrollment constitutes full acknowledgment and acceptance of these terms.
